Another successful year for Portside
On behalf of the entire Portside crew, we wish you and your family a Merry Christmas and a great New Year! We want to thank you for the successful collaboration this year and we hope we can continue in achieving a prosperous new year together. Our year has been quite busy with many great projects, we would like to give you a summary of the highlights of previous year, here at Portside.
Growth at Portside is noticeable
This year we have been receiving a monthly arrival of Clover Ace in Tema harbor. This transport consists of 200 meters in length and about 12 stories high cargo filled with rolling equipment such as cars, excavators and trucks. This monthly NMT transit service connects Europe with Africa and represents the growing business with Ghana.
The growth of Portside also allows us to expand our employees, have you met our newest member Betina Dadzie yet? She is Portside’s new Sales manager and she will help Portside to continue improving our services to our clients and stakeholders. Her experiences and dedication will definitely add value to Portside in a trouble free and fast transporting processes.
Portside was also nominated for ‘Terminal of the Year’ by the jury of Ghana Shippers Awards. We were honored to be nominated for this award due to our Washing Station for containers. Portside enables containers and tanks to be quickly cleaned and prepared for the next transport.
Portside shows its power by shipping heavy rolling machinery halfway across the world.
In October, Portside International shipped the Kobelco crawler crane CKE 1350 all the way from Breda, in The Netherlands to Takoradi in Ghana. Also, In the beginning of the year Portside transported many heavy machines; lift crawler cranes, drilling equipment, excavators and containers on liner RoRo. Portside knows like no other how to carefully monitor these grand and heavy transportations and guarantee a successful delivery.
The Shea Nut season is back in full swing!
We are fully stuffing the containers with raw sheanuts at our MTG terminal. We have missed 3F last year and are pleased to announce that they have returned to us. Sheanuts are used in many products all around the world. Both in food and cosmetics products.
Smile: All clean and ready for the next load
Portside also specializes in the cleaning of tanks in our own Washing Station for containers in the Port in Tema, Ghana.
Employee of the Year 2017
This year our favorite award goes two employees. Redeemer and Francis. Their commitment to their job has been fully noticed and therefor will be rewarded. We are pleased to have them working for and with us. Redeemer started at Portside as a truck driver, but has worked hard and had himself promoted to freight forwarding. Francis is our truck repairman who has solved many and difficult repairing problems. Managing Director of Portside Bas de Vaal presented the award at the Tema office of Portside, during an end of year gettogether. This was a festive meeting including a lunch, drinks and a speech from the management. We want to thank all our employees for their hard work and dedication! We are very pleased with all of you and look forward to another successful year together. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
