Portside staff now trained to provide FPSO service

After completing BOSIET (Basic Offshore Safety Induction Emergency Training) training, Portside boarding officer Ato Brown now represents Portside staff certified to work on FPSOs on the Jubilee oil field. The training, which is mandatory for staff looking to work on FPSOs, focuses on safety measures in the event of an emergency and includes elements such as practicing to get out of a helicopter in water.

The internationally recognised BOSIET certificate is a minimum requirement to work offshore and the course provides training in the areas of:

  • Safety introduction
  • Helicopter safety and escape with EBS
  • Sea survival
  • First aid and fire fighting and self rescue

Being BOSIET certified means that our staff can now handle any type of ship, in the port or offshore. We regard this as a great improvement to the services we offer our clients.
